Crew industrial flooring was recently given its toughest challenge. An old mill had to be converted to a high end designer furniture showroom. The client requested the following for the floor:-


I want to be able to see my furnitures and my own reflection in the floor, it must be supper smooth I want this floor to be as a mirror.

The existing 800sq. meter floor surface was badly damaged. A whole room in between two others had its floor 45-60mm above the floor level of the two other rooms this surface was wooden boards.

Firstly the middle floor section with the wooden board had new marine ply fixed to the existing boards. All boards where fixed with counter sunk screwed at 12inch centres and all joints filled.

The concrete floors in areas and 3 where repaired and primed before 15mm of fast curing pump applied levelling screed was applied.

After this had cured three ramps where created using epoxy screed to create ease of access through the sections of the floor.

Once the areas had been primed with the wooden area being primed twice the finial surface was applied. A 2mm specially formulated epoxy smoothing finishes was selected and applied to the whole surface including the ramped areas.

The resulting finish was just as the client requested. He commented.
